Why in the heck didn’t the democrats reload with new people?

Total confusion, disastrous platforms and a horribly lackluster approach to the many problems we are facing have stained what little chance the Democrats had of competing against President Trump this November. The thing is, they would have been in a much better position to defeat the man they have hated from day one if only they had taken a step back and used some common sense. Although, if I remember correctly, it is against the law for politicians to use common sense.

So let me mention before I go further. I lean more towards the conservative side of issues, although I still consider myself an independent. I try my best to see both sides of a topic, even if I already feel strongly towards one direction. I have even voted for Democrats in the past, though that was before bread came sliced. I will also mention that I have family and friends who are democrats, or as they are known today, Trump haters. So I’m kinda stuck in the middle of many arguments.

So, lets get back to the democratic party’s huge blunder. It started when the race for president brought out about a dozen candidates in their party. As I watched them on stage, I came to the conclusion that combined, they didn’t have the strength to crack an egg. By the end of the year, they were down to two men to fight it out. There stood Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden. If you combine their ages, I think they are a total of about three hundred and fifty years old, give or take a few months. They are so aged that the first bill they presented to Congress was one to save the dinosaurs from extinction.

Then in April, Bernie Sanders did what he does best, he quit. There stood Joe Biden, all alone on his way to be nominated. At this time, weird things were already beginning to appear. His old boss, Barack Obama, still didn’t endorse him. Was it a lack of confidence in his ability or what some people saw as a plan not yet laid out? Biden started to make lots of blunders in his speeches. His inability to answer some questions without getting in heated arguments with audience members was becoming the norm.

His checkered past with important issues and lack of success in getting anything done was catching up to him. Questions as to why he wouldn’t name a running mate, outside of predetermining it had to be a black women, bewildered even the democratic voters out there. At this point, the Dems in charge, and we know who these folks are, failed in their one decision that could have saved the election for them. A reload with new Candidates.

Now to be fair, I will say President Trump is far from flawless. Right from the beginning, before being elected, I agreed with many people that he needs to put a filter on his mouth. Saying things based on facts and not his sometimes wild opinion would make him more likeable to even some Democrats. He is proof that there is, and never was, a perfect president. He does have plenty of room for improvement. Yet, he is extremely smart and can handle a discussion with the best of them. If I was a politician, I wouldn’t want to take him on in a debate. This is why the Democrats needed to make a change. This is why two strong replacements should have been put in to put up a winnable fight.

Wiping the slate clean while admitting Joe Biden wasn’t able to physically, or mentally, continue the election bid would have been the only feasible way to defeat the man they couldn’t evict from the White House. As little as I have confidence in the Dems as a whole, I know there are plenty of smart ones in office that would have brought a much stronger presence to the task at hand. But they stuck with someone that has a minimum ability to complete a full sentence. I’m not joking on that, because whatever illness Joe Biden has is not a laughing matter.

So their plan B was to get him a running mate that they envisioned would take over immediately if they were to miraculously snatch up a win. Problem was, they chose someone who was kicked out early in the primary running because America just didn’t like her. During the debates, she really tore into Biden on several issues and simply said there is no way he could lead this country. Now, when asked about it, she laughs it off and says that was just part of being on stage. Really?

Putting in two strong candidates to take over would have been better accepted then the course they took. The general public would be more forgiving to the Democratic party if they would have admitted their mistakes and rolled with a better option. Having two candidates who would bring some form of calmness to the party’s radical image would have opened many more ears and eyes in a way to get more undecided votes.

New ideas for everyone to be part of, without putting blame on any one person or group for the troubles we have today is the best way to go. But they stuck with two individuals who will produce the same old crap that Washington has spit out of it’s poisonous mouth for what seems like eternity. My Democratic friends ask me why in the heck did I vote for Trump. The answer is simple. Take a real good look at what the options are. As many American people will admit, most elections are based on voting for the lesser of two evils. And I will admit I end up voting along those lines myself.

So now we have two Democrats running for the top spot in the country who have more failing grades then I had in high school. And believe me, that was a lot. So, to all my good friends out there who are Democrats, my one question to you is. Is your dislike for President Trump that strong that you could, in clear conscious, vote for these two weak people to lead our nation? Looking at the possibilities in your party, couldn’t you pick out two much better running mates then who you got to choose from? Just a thought.

Thank you.
